Inspired by Benvenuto Cellini's masterpiece, the bronze statue of Perseus victorious over the defeated Medusa, located in the famous Piazza della Signoria in Florence.

I immediately set to work. After weeks of drawing on white Italian paper with black ink pens, I created this brand new optical illusion: MEDUSA.

I wanted to represent only MEDUSA's face, with her eyes closed, the snakes she wears instead of hair are helpless, finally defeated, she can no longer turn to stone whoever meets her gaze.
